Aletheia Appraisals helps clients prepare for tax issues in advance by providing charitable contributions appraisals for property $5000 or more and assisting with the completion of IRS Form 8283.

Appraisals provide valuable information which is helpful in planning for current or future estate distribution. Our reports meet the IRS’s standards for determining tax liability.

Libby Holloway

Libby is a Certified Member of the International Society of Appraisers and is a generalist. She has served on the Board of Directors for three terms, as the President of the Board of Directors from 2020-2021 and on numerous committees for the organization. She is currently an ISA instructor for the Antiques, Furnishings + Decorative Arts (AF+DA) specialty course and editor of the course manual. Libby has worked as a contributing writer to multiple arts publications and and as a public speaker. She relies on her over 20 years experience as a respected business owner, appraiser, dealer and consultant to guide Aletheia. She will coordinate each appraisal team to assure the correct balance of general and specialty knowledge for each individual project. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech and holds a BS in Psychology.

Suzanne Houck

Suzanne is a Certified Member of the International Society of Appraisers and holds a M.A. focusing on decorative and fine arts from Hollins University. She also completed Sotheby’s London Educational Studies Course “The Decorative Arts of the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries”. She has been a leader in her industry, serving as Vice-President on the board of the International Society of Appraisers and on the Foundation for Appraisal Education. She co-authored and instructed the first onsite offering of the course, Appraisal of Residential Contents for those appraisers seeking their Certified Appraiser of Personal Property Designation. She currently provides independent appraisals from the Mid Atlantic to Southern California. Her expertise includes Fine and Decorative art, antiques and furnishings from the 18th through the 21st centuries.

Leslie Nicholson

Lesley Nicholson

Lesley is a second-generation antique dealer and a lifetime collector of ethnic and tribal art, as well as Art Deco and Art Nouveau decorative objects and costume jewelry. She has managed commercial art galleries in Texas and Illinois, as well as having extensive corporate experience. She has lectured on art and antique collecting and serves on the boards of the local Arts Council and a local museum and is a member of the South Carolina Archeological Society. Lesley studied art history at Manhattanville College and the University of Vienna and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Rice University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Illinois.

Kelly Goldsmith

Kelly is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers working in both South Carolina and Virginia. Though a generalist appraiser, she has 20+ years of specialized expertise in 18-21st century furniture, 19th and 20th century fine art and American and Continental sterling silver. In addition to her successful appraisal practice, Kelly consults with accountants, estate administrators and heirs to provide guidance in downsizing and estate liquidations. Guest speaking engagements include presentations to colleges and special interest groups on subjects relating to appraisals, Orientalia and sterling silver. Kelly holds a BS degree in Psychology from Radford University.

David Levy

Based in Savannah, Georgia, David is an experienced business owner and antique dealer for more than 35 years, David offers a comprehensive perspective on a wide range of antique and vintage collectibles including photography, toys, advertising, ephemera, historical items, maps, Americana and fine art of all kinds. David also assists clients with purchasing and selling consultations, downsizing and estate dispersal. David earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Georgia, and is a member of the Georgia Historical Society, Historic Savannah Foundation, The Daguerreian Society, The Telfair Museums and the Coastal Heritage Society, where he served as President of the Board of Trustees.
